Burning Copal
Place the terra cotta on a heat-safe surface, then the coal in the terra cotta and light. Once the coal is gray, start with a pea-size on top of the coal. Burn outside or with a window open.
Copal resin melts quickly, store in the glass vial in a cool controlled space.
